WE HAVE AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR (ON-CALL) TO EXPAND OUR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PRESENCE.

            

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING a CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR (ON-CALL) for our VENTURA office. Ventura is 63 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. With a backdrop of the Los Padres National Forest foothills and the scenic Pacific Ocean, residents enjoy miles of beaches and more than 30 parks. The 14.9-mile Ventura River Trail provides walkers, runners and cyclists with an easy connection to the South Coast Bikeway.  Ventura’s Mediterranean climate offers year-round recreational and cultural opportunities.  

 

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PROJECTS INCLUDE Streets & Highways * Bridges * Buildings * Wastewater Treatment Facilities * Collection Facilities * Water Distribution Systems * Water Treatment Plants * Storm Drainage Collection Systems and Facilities * Recreational Facilities

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE construction inspection of various transportation, water/wastewater, and public works projects.  Under the supervision of the Resident Engineer, the successful candidate will perform monitoring, inspection and coordination of Construction management and quality assurance inspection as noted below. This position will provide services for the following areas, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, Santa Clarita, Carpinteria and Oxnard.  Part-time to full-time availability.  For a detailed description on job duties, visit www.CannonCorp.us and click on “Careers”.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 4+ years progressively responsible experience in construction management and inspection of Public Works or Industrial facilities; or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Caltrans experience is a plus or use of Caltrans specs, processes and procedures.
  • Transportation, earthwork and water/wastewater construction experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. CPM Scheduling software is a plus.
  • Professional certifications by recognized inspection agencies (ICC, ACI, AWS, QSP, Caltrans, etc.) highly preferred.
