The New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) builds and renovates public schools throughout all of the boroughs. We believe that schools should be efficiently designed and constructed; they should be safe, attractive and environmentally sound. The SCA’s responsibilities span the life of each project (new schools, additions, and capital improvements to existing schools) from planning, real estate, budgeting, scoping, and designing, to construction completion.
The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is seeking two Furniture & Equipment Coordinators who will be responsible for the coordinating of all activities associated with the selection, specification, purchase requisition, delivery and installation of furniture and equipment for SCA projects. Other responsibilities will include: ensuring that furnishings meet established standards school; coordinating project documentation and purchase orders; assisting with architectural work relating to placement of furniture and equipment; participating in meetings with other agency Representatives and Administrators; providing budget review and authorizations; tracking work orders and coordinating delivery schedules and inspections; functions as a receiving agent for the SCA.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of full time experience in furniture and equipment purchasing project control, scheduling and budget reviews. Candidates with interior design or experience in school furnishings a plus. Excellent communication, time management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills strongly desired. Great attention to detail to ensure data integrity a must. A valid driver’s license preferred.

With at least two years of active and continuous City or SCA service: Incumbent Rate Salary: $69,721
