The Park Operations Manager is responsible for select physical plant operations on the Sunset Campus, including buildings, vehicles, the landscaping and burial functions within the park. Further responsibilities include supervision and direct participation of the Ground Team and ensuring service quality. This role also includes overseeing ongoing maintenance for select facilities. We have a solid in-house training program available for candidates who may not have a funeral service background.

Leadership, supervision, and participation in the execution of all services and select park operations.
Monitors safety practices for all park employees and makes recommendations focusing on the safety of the park for visitors and employees.
Ensure grounds crew staff are properly trained to maintain successful on-going delivery of services (including hiring participation, training including OSHA and Safety, scheduling, discipline, and evaluation). Document training as required.
Verify accuracy and approve timecards and ensure timely delivery of reporting to
Communicate scope, standards, and procedures to ground crew for all park procedures and
Meet with Park Executive Director annually to convey needs for the upcoming year’s operational budget.
Develop, apply, and maintain a preventative repair system, a schedule for maintenance, and replacement program for ground equipment and vehicles to produce reliable equipment and cost effectiveness. Keep detailed records. Forwards report and recommendations to Executive Director Quarterly and as needed.
Develops comprehensive annual maintenance calendar with Executive Director. Ensure all items are addressed as scheduled.
Coordinate workflow to meet time deadlines. Meets daily with Family Service Team to identify urgent needs and take timely action. Makes recommendations for service scheduling based on Grounds Team’s capacity to perform service closures.
Contribute to doing in-house repairs and maintenance.
Daily visual inspection of the park, utilizing a cart.
Performs quarterly inspection on all funeral equipment to include lowering devices, lifts and other devices used with services. Document each inspection process. Forwards report and recommendations to Executive Director each report cycle.
Provide dependable and adequate irrigation system throughout the park, balancing system, and maintaining proper moisture levels. Perform checks of zones to identify problems. Makes repairs to broken sprinkler heads and broken water lines as needed. Checks water well performance and records water usage for state reports.
Ensures seasonal gate hours are properly programed.
Probes graves and plots out new burial blocks being created.
Memorial Day preparation and execution. Coordinate fall leaf cleanup, trash removal, and small tree trimming and removal.
Ensure that appropriate levels of products and supplies are available to meet the needs for interment services and park maintenance.
Ensure that all vault deliveries are properly scheduled and staffed for the safe and responsive service of vault usage by French Funerals-Cremations at other cemeteries throughout the state of NM
