You will work with a diverse, collaborative, and knowledgeable team that includes seven Project Managers performing a variety of roles in support of Metro capital projects for Parks and Nature, Oregon Convention Center, Portland'5 Centers for the Arts, Portland Expo Center, Metro Regional Center (MRC) and Waste Prevention and Environmental Services (WPES).
Current recruitment is for a project manager to execute OCC projects starting July 1,2023, pending council and budget approval.
As the Construction Project Manager II, you will: Coordinate and lead projects in development stages that address the need for public services and a demonstrated record of success.
Be responsible and accountable for the overall scope, schedule and budget for each project assigned, from initial planning through project closeout.
Perform a variety of project management services, including, but not limited to, management and administration, of planning, design, construction, and inspection services for projects assigned.
Prepare and manage contracts for design and construction, including procurement of contracts.
Establish and coordinate work of various project requirements, including land use, jurisdiction partners, procurement, permitting, consultant and contractor management, and other areas needed to accomplish these projects.
Establish and lead coordinated efforts of other Metro staff with dedicated project roles, as needed.
Minimum qualifications:
Four years of supervisory experience in public construction management, and
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field, or
We will consider any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Valid driver’s license (includes a driver’s license check at time of hire if selected)
Working schedule: This position is a hybrid working model, with some items that can be completed in a home office and other items that need to be complete on a work site. The schedule of this role is flexible, but is dependent on project and business needs, so some night, weekend and holiday work occasionally needed.
