The position of General Manager is responsible for the operation, maintenance, quality and staffing of all operations for Minot Paving Company LLC. The duties will include ensuring the asphalt plant, products and associated equipment is safe, well maintained, of the highest quality and all certifications, permits and inspections are current and complete.

 Duties Include but are not limited to;

• Manage daily schedules for projects, subcontractors and all staff
• Assess, estimate and bid projects from blueprints or RFQ
• Ensure all asphalt operations maintain the highest standards in safety, quality, schedule and maintenance
• Manage all operations to be properly staffed with qualified, well trained employees, includes hiring
• Responsible for reporting material usages and inventories to office staff, purchasing when needed
• Coordinate closely with engineers, owners, or subcontractors
• Coordinate plant operations to comply with all environmental requirements
• Coordinate with quality control/assurance companies
• Assess equipment and facility requirements and make recommendations for replacement or improvement
• Maintain a current knowledge of industry advancements, specifications, safety standards and issues
• Maintain a working knowledge of asphalt plants and all associated facilities (ie binder storage, RAP, etc.)
• Must have adequate computer skills
• Responsible for maintaining all certifications, permits and inspections to be current and complete
• Coordinate plant operations to comply with all environmental requirements
• Cooperate and comply with Minot Paving employee union agreements
• Maintain safety training for all staff
• Ensure all operations maintain the highest standards in safety, quality, schedule and maintenance
• Review weekly production costs and adjust operations in order to meet budget
• SWPPP reporting and maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience
• Strong understanding of asphalt mix designs and aggregate quality control
• Strong maintenance and troubleshooting background
• Basic computer skills, basic proficiency Microsoft Excel
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong mathematical skills
• Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability
