The Airport Design & Construction (ADC) Department is searching for a self-directed individual with demonstrated experience and leadership abilities for a Manager, Safety & Labor Compliance role. The ADC Department is responsible for implementing the Authority’s Airport Development Plan, including the design and construction of terminal, airside and landside improvements. In addition, the department implements the Authority’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP), delivers Major Maintenance Program (MMP) projects and provides technical and professional on-call services for broader Authority needs.
The position will oversee the construction safety and labor compliance programs for airport construction projects and be responsible for the following:
Determines and oversees long and short-term strategic direction and methodologies for construction safety and labor compliance objectives and outcomes; facilitates and prioritizes standards, resources and deliverables in alignment with organizational vision and goals; integrates program components; evaluates and ensures effectiveness of programs and performance compliance with internal standards, regulations and safe work practices; develops recommendations to resolve deficiencies and solutions to mitigate risks.
Oversees and initiates outreach, pre-construction, bid, pre and post award, education and compliance activities; maintains collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, consultants and management to define and promote programs and priorities; facilitates and gains acceptance of initiatives across differing opinions; champions initiatives and ensures adoption of organizational priorities.
Interprets requirements, regulations and standards; provides guidance on programs and compliance matters; develops controls and improvements to resolve issues and respond to infractions; formulates and communicates goals and objectives; ensures application of safe work practices; makes presentations and conducts learning sessions.
Coaches and fosters team’s success, competencies, accountability, development, diversity, inclusion and learning; recognizes and rewards achievements, completes corrective action and oversees consulting services; motivates and gains commitments; formulates and communicates goals and objectives.
Ensures alignment of work efforts with organizational values, priorities, performance measures, and programs; tracks work delivery and documentation of work activities; facilitates process designing and integration of practices, metrics and benchmarks; performs other duties as assigned.
Depending on experience, hiring reward is up to $117,000 annually.

Required Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in occupational safety, loss control, risk management or related field; and
Eight years of experience developing, implementing and managing safety programs, accident prevention, loss control and/or risk management, of which at least four years were in leadership role overseeing construction safety and loss prevention programs;
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Licenses, Certificates and Special Requirements:
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour Construction Training Certificate.
OSHA Hazard Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification.
Prior to employment, the selected candidate’s driving record will be obtained and reviewed for eligibility to be insured under the Authority's insurance plan in order to operate organization vehicles.
Membership in a professional safety organization is highly desired.
