Concepts in Millwork, Inc., is currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller position is responsible for all financial activities of the organization and will also be responsible for the management of the Accounting and Human Resources Departments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Supervise personnel regarding accuracy and procedures of maintaining Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, A/R Collections, Sales Tax, purchase orders, petty cash, processing of employee expense reports, cash control, and Payroll Processing to include preparation of timely filed Tax Reports and timely transmittal of EFT tax payments. • Preparation of monthly financial statements and fair presentation of the financial statements free from material misstatements and in accordance with AICPA Financial Reporting Framework for Small and Medium-Sized Entities. • Maintain accuracy of the GL, record monthly journal entries, reconcile subsidiary accounts, including AR, AP, Inventory, Accruals, Payroll, work papers and schedules, etc., and test accounting records to confirm reconciliation to the GL and other financial reports. • Prepare and analyze monthly Work-In-Progress information and job cost data, including forecasted job cost projections, calculation of overhead allocations, and prepare summary schedule including costs in excess of billings and billings in excess of costs. • Analytical analysis of financial information and utilization of financial data to assist operations and management with problem solving and decision-making processes. • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. • Maintain and oversee accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, reporting, company records, documents, explanations, and other information, including significant judgements regarding all accounting departments. • Balance and post revenue breakout each month by department. • Supervise personnel regarding human resources accuracy of personnel matters and benefits including maintaining an understanding of employment i.e.: 401k retirement plan, health insurance, life insurance, EEOC regulations, labor laws etc. and recommend best solutions for the company. • Assist with creation and maintenance of cash flow projections. Review measurement results to goals and objectives and report to CFO. • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and compliance with annual government audits, as required, and complete trade surveys. • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred • License in accounting required; CPA or CMA preferred. • 10+ years accounting experience in a managerial position - preferred experience as a Financial Controller. • Prior experience in manufacturing or construction industry is required. • Experience and working knowledge of inventory, WIP, costs and estimated earnings in excess of billings on uncompleted contracts and billings in excess of costs and estimated earnings on uncompleted contracts. • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. • Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem solving. • Professional and positive attitude toward and respect of coworkers. • Ability to establish a good working relationship with Upper Management. • Proven track record of successful personnel management and the ability to communicate clearly with all personnel in any position or department.
