We have an immediate opportunity within our Water practice for a Senior Construction Services Department Manager to lead our Water/Wastewater construction administration, management and inspection team. The successful candidate will use their leadership skills to manage a well-established team of construction managers, inspectors and administrative staff to deliver outstanding consulting construction services on a wide array of municipal improvements projects. The candidate will also use their experience and knowledge to maintain existing strong client relationships, as well foster new ones.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage existing clients and oversee construction administration projects.
Mentor and supervise construction management, field & administrative staff and develop high-performing project teams
Collaborate with construction professionals in a number of geographies
Be responsible for ensuring quality in all construction management and administration deliverables completed by the team
Manage and oversee construction services personnel
Assist with business development pursuits including proposal preparation and new client contact
Manage project budgets, schedules and deliverables
Negotiate contractor claims, disputes and discrepancies
Organize, track and submit construction documentation utilizing area and industry standard software
Interact with clients and management regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget
Apply and share experience/knowledge of construction expertise
Ensure that projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Registered PE in the state of OH or Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or ability to acquire within six (6) months is required
Experience administering and managing municipal construction projects
Experience managing construction administration staff
Candidate must have professional writing abilities and ability to manage client relationships
Self-Motivated with good work ethic are required
Self-confidence and strong people skills are needed
Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record
Education and Experience
A bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar and is a Registered Professional Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction administration and management. A minimum of four (4) years of experience managing construction administration and field staff.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
