JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to act as the owner’s agent in support of a federal contract to upgrade site utilities at the Fort Vancouver National Historic site in Vancouver, WA. The 9 month project includes installing new waterlines, new sewer systems, new water services, fire services and sewer laterals to multiple buildings, new power and communication raceways with associated below grade vaults and pads and above ground pedestals and junction boxes, primary/secondary conductors, transformers, and building services. The Construction Manager will be responsible for coordinating the contractor’s construction efforts working closely with the owner’s contract representatives. This is a Full-Time position for the project duration from October 2018 through June 2019 located in Vancouver, WA.
Education and professional qualifications related to construction, architecture and engineering.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with best construction practices associated with projects that involve the construction of new potable water systems and sewer collection systems with connections to existing occupied buildings; construction of new electrical distribution systems and communications infrastructure; protection of existing site utilities; stormwater pollution prevention and site restoration; and managing complex site utility projects that require high level coordination between many stakeholders.
Prior experience with resource protection measures required by government agencies to avoid and minimize construction related adverse impacts to natural and cultural resources.
Prior experience working with Government Project Managers / CORs on processing change request, request for information, submittals and field observation reports.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects in a public setting with the ability to represent the interests of the government in a professional manner and ensure quality of work while maintaining good relationships with contractors.
