Construction Management – South Bay Area Construction Manager needed for water and wastewater projects.
Construction Manager with public agency CM experience in water, wastewater, stormwater or public infrastructure-related projects is needed to assist with project responsibilities in our firm’s growing construction management practice in the South Bay Area.
Experience and qualification requirements include 3-10+ years in civil construction project oversight as part of a civil engineering or construction firm with a focus on water or wastewater. Required experience includes treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines or storage tanks. This position requires more than 40 hours per week to accomplish the objectives of the position. Applicant must be fully mobile on the job site; efforts may include, but are not limited to, climbing ladders and scaffolding, reaching, stooping, crawling, and kneeling. A valid California Driver’s License is required.
Skills include: ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications; well-versed in preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports; computer literate and able to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Project software; experienced in the use of on-line CM document management software; skilled at running internal and external meetings, including preparing meeting agendas, leading project meetings and providing meeting minutes; ability to review contractor monthly pay requests and confirm quantity and pricing is correct; and communicate effectively with contractors, agency staff, engineers and regulatory agencies. Skill at marketing and business development a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical water-related civil engineering education and knowledge, proactive organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including the ability to quickly develop working relationships internally within the firm and externally with clients and teaming partners. A college degree, and Professional Engineer (PE) certification in California is preferred.
