Garver is seeking an experienced professional for our Texas Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) business as a Resident Engineer. This individual will help to develop, grow, and manage construction clients in this region, and build a construction engineering and inspection team. In addition, this engineer will assist with overall management of staff and provide direction on large-scale transportation project construction.
Primary responsibilities of the Resident Engineer will include but are not limited to:
Managing consultant CE&I services on specific transportation construction projects as the daily point of contact for clients.
Knowing and applying fundamental concepts, best practices, and procedures of construction engineering and field inspection (CE&I).
Having knowledge of industry related standards such as DOT standard specifications, Construction Contract Administration Manual, DOT guides for sampling and testing, DOT manuals on utilities, and the MUTCD.
Possessing knowledge of related fields and areas of operation.
Collaborating with design engineering staff to ensure accuracy of project construction.
Secondary responsibilities may include:
Assisting in marketing and business development initiatives.
Recruiting and developing a team to support area projects.

Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
10 or more years of experience in construction management
5 or more years of experience managing construction projects for public owners
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience managing TxDOT projects
TxDOT pre-certifications are a plus
