Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered is seeking multiple construction inspectors to perform on-site inspection services on roadway paving and/or alley rehabilitation projects throughout Washington, DC. The construction inspector will be responsible for the following: Monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contractor compliance for roadway paving and/or alley rehabilitation construction projects, under the direction of a Construction Manager or Project Engineer. Inspect and monitor assigned field work activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Coordinate work and inspections with contractor's representative, DDOT personnel and other stakeholders as identified by DDOT. Check lines, grades, dimensions and elevations using standard surveying and field measuring equipment. Advise contractor of non-conforming work or other violations of the contract requirements. Work with the contractor to identify and implement appropriate corrective action. Ensure that work zones and traffic control setups conform to contract requirements. Prepare and review daily inspector reports for preparation of entries into project diaries. Document materials in the Materials Notebook as well as other test reports for materials. Test and/or sample materials as required, coordinate with Materials Division and send samples to the DDOT, or other testing laboratories as needed. Assist in contractor's monthly evaluations.
Requirements: 5+ years of full-time experience as a construction inspector on highway, roadway, or alley construction. Experience inspecting paving construction, including concrete and asphalt. Experience monitoring the set up of work zones and traffic control. Preferred certifications: Asphalt Field, Concrete Field, Nuclear Gauge, Workzone Safety/Traffic Control and OSHA 10-Hour.Please reference #CMAASI in the subject line when you apply.
