We are seeking a talented individual to join us as a Construction Project Manager, our wholly owned subsidiary that links Mercyhealth together by offering a complete continuum of health care services to our membership, including seniors, individuals, and area employers and their employees.
Construction Project Manager
Oversee the direction, administration, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project or a series of projects. In this leadership role, you will manage the work of project teams to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with service area leadership and staff, subcontractors, unions, and others.
Oversee all phases of construction project operations, including collaborating with the general contractor ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
Take responsibility for all phases (planning, scheduling and managing) of the design and construction process for a construction or refurbishment project, generally in the $25 to $50 million range in cumulative budget.
Secure management support for project scopes budgets, and goals.
Negotiate with local and state jurisdictions.
Define project parameters in terms of time, money, physical objectives and outside constraints.
Develop and manage a project team—comprising facility administration, project coordinators, general contractors and contracted consultants—responsible for developing project scope, budget and schedule.
Lead team in establishing scope, budget and schedule, and maintain such commitments through design, construction, and close-out processes.
Coordinate with Mercyhealth staff or other groups to manage projects through to completion.
Supervise on-site design and construction teams, communicating goals and project status with facility leadership.
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction or project management (or related) from four-year college.
At least 5 years of management experience in design, construction or project management, with at least 3 years in a healthcare setting.
Experience in design and construction activities for hospital and medical office buildings.
Knowledge of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction.
Good understanding of federal, state and local laws and regulations related to real estate and land development and health facility projects, as well as compliance with local entitlement and permitting processes.
Specific knowledge of regulatory agencies practices, policies, and procedures in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Valid driver's license.
Professional license/registration/certification preferred.
